Magnetic Claw

Description: To complete the mission of carrying cans using the UAV, a device was incorporated that, thanks to 2 electromagnets, is capable of lifting magnetic objects of up to 1 kg, as well as releasing them when required. The parts used were made with 3D printing so that their weight would not compromise the vehicle's operation, in addition to having a strategic placement so as not to obstruct other sensors.

Flotation System

To meet the UAV's safety requirements, a carbon-fiber frame coated with EPE foam tubes was implemented. The structure attaches to the drone's legs via 3D-printed PETG joints. The CAD model of these joints was subjected to a Finite Element Analysis (FEA), which made it possible to simulate the part's behavior during hard landings and validate its response.
